Welcome to Roland and Lynne Travel the World!

Hello!

We are Roland and Lynne Kuhl and we live in La Crosse, WI in the United States.  We love people, travel, and adventure.  Covid-19 has put a halt to our traveling during 2020 and 2021 as we await the vaccine and determine how persons, such as ourselves who are in their 60s, can travel safely. We had hoped that 2020 and 2021 would be big travel years - we have our hiking boots and hats ready at all times.

So we asked ourselves, how can we see the world?  How can we see family, friends, and make new friends? Can we have adventures even while we are here at home?  Flat Stanley came to mind!

A few words on background from The Flat Stanley Project through Wikipedia. "Dale Hubert [a school teacher in London, ON Canada] first introduced The Flat Stanley Project to his students at Wilfrid Jury Public School in 1995. The project's name comes from the eponymous character of the children's book Flat Stanley.  Written in 1964 by American author Jeff Brown, the book centers around the life of character Stanley Lambchop, a boy who is accidentally flattened."

When our children were young they were assigned to create their own Flat Stanley and mail him to family and friends.  Throughout the school year Flat Stanley had many adventures and traveled to many places around the world.

So, here we are . . . Flat Roland and Flat Lynne, as well as our dog, Flat Dakota! When we arrive in your mailbox, where you live, we hope you will take us around to a few sites, take a few pictures with us, tell us a little about yourselves and where you live, and then send it to us at rgkuhl@gmail.com and we will post what you have shared on this blog site - Roland and Lynne Travel the World.

Hopefully by New Year's Eve 2021, we'll have travelled to many interesting places, as well as having actually made many new friends.
